The Listening to Parents
project has struck a nerve, both in the general public and
in the child welfare community. The Associated Press
article announcing the publication of the Listening to
Parents project appeared in most newspapers in the United
States in March of 2005. Hundreds of people from all over
the country have sent emails describing their own
frustrating experiences. Many child welfare magazines and
newsletters wrote stories about the project or reprinted
the Executive Summary.
